Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised SSC CGL Selection Process in the year 2022. The selection process will have two exam stages. SSC has released the notification for the new vacancies of the year 2023. The candidates who will fill the application form must be aware about the SSC CGL Selection Process as well as syllabus & exam pattern.

SSC CGL Educational Qualification Required

There is an educational qualification required for applying various vacancies notified in SSC CGL 2023 Notification. The details are provided below.

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

  • Candidate should have done Graduation in any field with CS/CA/MBA from a Government Recognized Institution/University.

Junior Statistical Officer (JCO)

  • Candidate should have done Graduation in Math/Statistics from a Government Recognized Institution/University.

Other Post

  • Candidate should have done Graduation in any field from a Government Recognized Institution/University.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2023 Summary

The SSC CGL Selection Process will have two Computer Based Examination (CBT) –

  • Tier 1 CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Tier 2 CBT (Computer Based Test)

Tier 1 CBT is compulsory for all the post. Tier 2 CBT will have three papers – Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-II. Paper-I will be compulsory for all the post, Paper-II will be only for those candidates who have applied for JSO vacancies. For the Post of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer, Paper-III will be conducted for those candidates who have passed Paper-I.

The candidates who will pass the Tier 1 & Tier 2 CBT will be called for document verification and final allotment.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Exam Pattern of Tier 1 Paper will consist of four sections. Brief detail about Tier 1 examination is provided below.

  • Maximum Marks : 200
  • Number of Questions : 100
  • Time Allotted : 1 Hour
  • Negative Marking : 0.50 for every wrong answer
